Today marks the second-last installment of our content creation series. I hope you’ve enjoyed it so far. You’ll note the series of images above of ice cream sandwiches from whole to mostly eaten. You can use this idea in your content creation efforts as well – as serial posts.

Typically the best use of a serial post is to break up a really long post into smaller, more consumable pieces. If you’ve written the definitive guide to the uses of peppermint essential oil, your work might easily be a dozen pages. That’s going to take a long time to read online. Instead of putting the entire piece on one page by default, serialize it so you post in smaller bits.

Having several cross-linked pages of information on one topic can be an effective way to get better search engine rankings. It also makes your information more accessible to visitors. And, for those who want it all, put all the information on one page so it’s easy to print out.

So there you have it. Create an in-depth, detailed piece of content and use serial posting to give you more heft in the search engines and develop more credibility with your audience by showcasing your expertise.
