Welcome back to our content creation tips series! Today I’m going to remind you about an easy trick you can use to fill in your content calendar – and that’s by looking at your calendar 🙂
Special Events
Without fail, the calendar turns over every year and we run through a list of familiar events in North America. They are:
- New Years
- Valentine’s Day
- Family Day (Canada)
- St. Patrick’s Day
- April Fools
- Mother’s Day
- Victoria Day (Canada)
- Memorial Day (U.S.A.)
- Father’s Day
- Canada Day (Canada)
- Independence Day (U.S.A.)
- August Civic Holiday (Canada)
- Labour Day
- Halloween
- Remembrance Day
- Christmas
You’ll note this list is not particularly diverse so you can easily add all sorts of events if your audience is likely to appreciate it. Diwali, Kwanzaa, Pride Day, International Women’s Day, and all manner of days may be appropriate for you to provide a special post.
The great thing about these events is that your content can be prepared well in advance and scheduled to run automatically on or just before the events. If you’re trying to do a post a day, you can cover at least a dozen days of the year with just these basics above.
I hope this gives you some inspiration for your content creation efforts. Tomorrow we’ll delve a little more deeply into events to see how you can leverage them for your online marketing.
