Now that you've woken up early and had some great ideas, how you do you know how you're doing?
Easy. Learn to measure. There are metrics for virtually everything on the planet. Online marketing and social media is no different. Google, for example, has added social media measurement metrics to its free analytics toolkit. There are many built-in measures you can use in the various social media platforms and of course, there are hundreds of third-party tools available.
Measurement is critical to the growth and development of your online marketing endeavours. Knowing which ideas, memes, infographics and other ideas you've put forward have been the most popular and have had the most reach can give you an idea of what your audience is looking for. (Hopefully it's not cute kittens.) Similarly, the time of day you present those ideas can also have an impact. The same information through different social media channels can be received differently. You get the idea.
Peter Drucker once said "If you can't measure it, you can't manage it." This applies to everything from weight to agriculture to your online marketing activities. So get out your virtual clipboard and start measuring your success!
